AHA hosted their 4th annual CCYHL Jamboree over the Thanksgiving weekend. The event was a huge success with 25 teams participating in the "C" and "D" Mite divisions. In this Jamboree the C games are played on half ice, and the D games are full ice. Tthere is no score kept and no penalties are assessed, just a lot of fun on the ice. The officials keep the game moving by throwing the puck into the corner only after a goal is scored. At any given time there were 100 players either getting dressed or on the ice playing a game.
I would like to thank John McKibbon, Susan Ross, Jeff Wheeler, Rachel Weber, Mary Sherwood, Teresa O’Kelly and all of the parents that donated their time and participated in the success of the weekend. We had many compliments from the visiting teams about the friendliness of the volunteers and on a well-organized Jamboree.
The kids had a great time playing games, meeting other players, and looking through the merchandise for sale. It was a fun weekend and we look forward to next year.
