Welcome to the Arvada Hockey Association’s Bantam AA tryouts.  If you are a player or a family member of a player, please read the following letter.  I have written a brief description of expectations for the 2008-2009 Bantam AA season.

At the Bantam AA level, each player is expected to earn his or her ice time.  Every player will start the season with a blank slate and have a fair opportunity to work for their ice time.  I look forward to helping each team member become a better player.

The team will establish goals at the beginning of the season and continue to evaluate those goals throughout the course of the season.  Players will be asked to fill out goal sheets periodically throughout course of the season.  Goal sheets will incorporate both individual goals and team goals.

All players and their families are expected to show good sportsmanship towards opponents, officials, and the faculty of all arenas we play in.  There will be a zero-tolerance policy for teammates who disrespect each other.

Attendance to all team functions is essential for our success therefore it will be mandatory.  Obviously there are legitimate exceptions, including but not limited to: sickness, religious events, school functions, and/or family emergencies.

All players are expected to attend the team’s dry land training sessions.  We may also schedule sessions with Total Hockey one to two times a week.  Details of these sessions will be worked out in the near future.

We will be attending one or two out-of-state tournaments as well as a few in-state tournaments.  Here are a few we are trying to get into at this point:

a. Early Bird at Arapahoe (Late September)

b. Minneapolis, MN (Between Christmas and New Years)

c. Littleton Thanksgiving Tournament (We will know about the Littleton Tournament by the end of September.  If we do not get into this tournament, we will likely have Thanksgiving off.)

Good luck during tryouts and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
